Hauling lumber

Today was a fun one! We are going to install a 10-foot railing to make our staircase in our rental a lot safer to use. A family member kindly offered some help to install it (I'm not the most handy, yet). We specced everything out last week and today I biked down to the lumber store to meet him and pick up the hardware.
Strapping the railing to the bike was surprisingly easy. the frame of the bullit sticks out wide enough that you can mount things that run along the side and still manage to pedal. Of course, it's not ideal if you need to make quick turns with a 10-foot railing attached to your bike, but it worked well. I'm curious about what the bullit could handle for larger, heavier loads of wood.
Yesterday I picked up some Voilé straps (pronounced Vo-Lay, I've learned), which are just about the best things ever for this kind of thing.
I took the railpath home, which I learned is still closed. Sad. But, the rest of the ride was good.
