Buds on the trees, bikes in the streets

Today, I put out a new video sharing some spring love. I set out to film some of the blooming trees and flowers around the city but ended up interviewing someone on a very cool Omnium minimax cargo bike.

I'm no stranger to talking to strangers. Some of the best people I've met and the friends that I've made have been strangers that I happened to either interrupt, intrude on, or politely said hello to. Anyway, I was out making this video, riding down Bloor, when I passed somebody riding an omnium. As we pulled up to a red light together, I said to them, "Where the heck did you get an omnium in Canada?" We talked for a little bit and then I decided to shoot my shot and said, "Hey, do you mind if I interview you for my YouTube channel?"

The rider kindly agreed and I did my best to interview them without having prepared for anything of the kind. We ended up chatting for at least 10 minutes and the rider, Alex, was super friendly. And I actually got to talk to somebody who actually owns an Omnium! We chatted about cargo bikes, riding in the summer, what we're looking forward to this summer, and some shared connections we actually had. It was really great.
